banned book week

Something that means a lot to me is Books. I am an avid reader and books are like air and water to me. Without them I would not survive. Every year the last week in September is Banned Book Week. It is meant to raise awareness of Censorship and also of your First Amendment Right. So, my friends, get out there and READ! Books have been banned for centuries and for ridiculous reasons. My favorite Series of all time, The Harry Potter Series of books, have been banned for years. Go figure. Peace Out and Pick up a Book!

My favorite poster for Banned Book Week 2007.

solo road trip

I decided once a month to take a solo road trip. No kiddos along, no hubby. Just me and my camera. My inaugural trip was today, to beautiful Prescott Arizona. One of my favorite spots in Northern'ish Arizona to go. So I took a few ungodly amount of pictures and will post my favorite ones for you to enjoy!

This one was my favorite-favorite of the day.

one hundred one

What do you get a very special person who just happens to have turned 101? Well, when you reach that age you have or have had just about everything your heart has desired. So, that leaves us gift givers looking for something special. Something that will bring a smile to a sweet grandmothers face. The go to item that you can never have too much of... jewels, of course!

a new addition

Anyone who knows us knows how loving we are. That we love animals and that our home just hasn't been the same since our Golden Retriever, Hogan, passed away.  We have been searching for our new pup for about a year now. We researched a few breeds and have decided on the Coton du tulear. Although we really like to rescue animals from the Humane Socitety, these pups are not the breed you find in need of rescue. They are fantastic pups and once they find a home, rarely are they given up.  So, we have decided for once to find a breeder.  The temperament and personality of these pups would be a great addition to our family. Now we are trying to find the right breeder close to home. We are looking forward to finding the right people who provide the parents and the new pups with the love and attention that will be carried on in our own home. Keep your fingers crossed bloggers that we can have a new addition to our family before years end. <3
